Responsibilities of the Design Review Board
- Issues Certificates of Appropriateness in connection with building permit
requests for multifamily, institutional and commercial structures that involve
external architectural features

Adopts design criteria for the review of external architectural features.

Formulates plans or guidelines improving the appearances of external
architectural features consults property owners or occupants to achieve
voluntary improvements.

Recommends to the Village Council or Village Manager appropriate measures
to improve the appearance of public buildings and properties.

Reports violations of Village ordinances affecting the appearance of
the Village and makes recommendations as to the enforcement thereof;

Comments to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Plan Commission and Village
Council regarding Certificates of Appropriateness for Special Use Permit
requests.

Considers Certificates of Appropriateness for multifamily, institutional
and commercial signs.
Responsibilities of the Sign Board of Appeals

Considers administrative appeals of any sign code decision or interpretation.
