Evaluates the architectural and historical significance
of properties or structures for owners that request Winnetka Landmark designations;

Conducts public hearings and prepares findings of fact
and recommendations for the Village Council’s consideration and approval
of Winnetka Landmark designations;
- Conducts advisory review of any proposed alterations affecting a Winnetka
Landmark;

Prepares comments to the Zoning Board of Appeals regarding
their consideration of proposed alterations to a Winnetka Landmark;.

Prepares and maintains, maps and/or registers of potential
and designated Landmarks;

Maintains technical information pertaining to the physical
and financial aspects of preservation, renovation, rehabilitation and reuse
and regarding the procedures for inclusion of properties on the National
Register of Historic Places;

Manages a system of certificates, markers or plaques for
designated Landmarks;

Educates residents concerning the historic, cultural or
architectural heritage of the Village; and
-
Seeks grants and donations to achieve the purposes of
the Landmark Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 20).
