2014 Village Citizen Survey Reveals Quality of Life in Winnetka is High

The results of last summer’s first citizen survey have been tabulated by the Village’s survey partner, National Research Center, Inc. (NRC). Surveys were mailed to every Winnetka household, and the Village achieved a 45% response rate. The results emphasize that Winnetka residents enjoy a high quality of life. More than 9 in 10 respondents rated Winnetka as an excellent or good place to live and raise children.

Two Residential Burglaries Reported Monday, January 19

January 20, 2015

The Winnetka Police Department is investigating two residential burglaries that occurred on Monday, January 19, during the late afternoon hours. Both incidents occurred on the west side of the Village; entry was forced through first floor doors. Items taken included jewelry and cash. Fortunately, one of the homes was equipped with an alarm system that was activated and the amount of property loss was limited due to the immediate police response.

Applications for Senior Property Tax Exemptions Are in the Mail

January 20, 2015

Renewal forms for senior citizen property tax exemptions are being mailed this week; however, those who just turned 65 in 2014 will not receive a form. Applications are available in the New Trier Township Office at 739 Elm Street in Winnetka and online at www.cookcountyassessor.com.​
