The Village of Winnetka, in partnership with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, (SWANCC) will again host a document destruction event on Saturday, May 2, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Winnetka Public Works Yards, 1390 Willow Road.

Residents from any SWANCC member community are eligible to participate.  Up to six banker-size boxes or paper grocery bags will be accepted per vehicle.  Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed.  Workers will assist with taking paper out of vehicles, and loading it into a shredding truck. The shredded documents will be transported to Groot’s recycling facility in Elk Grove Village for recycling.

Since 2005, 1,383,840 pounds of paper have been shredded and recycled from SWANCC one-day events.
