One Winnetka Preliminary Planned Development Update

Winnetka’s Village Attorney and Staff are working on details of a draft a Preliminary Planned Development Ordinance and development agreement for the One Winnetka development at Elm Street and Lincoln Avenue. The Village anticipates that the approval Ordinance and development agreement will be introduced in January, 2017. The draft Ordinance and related agenda materials will be available for public inspection once the packet materials for that meeting are posted to the Village website.

Having heard the call for vibrant downtown spaces with more opportunities for community events, the Village will sponsor the inaugural Winnetka Music Festival. The Village is excited to announce its sponsorship of the 2017 Festival - a weekend-long immersion of high quality music in our own Elm Street District. New music will be offered around every corner, including our local restaurants, stores, parks, and public spaces. Save the date now for 2017: Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.

District 36 Enrollment Balancing Project

To address imbalanced enrollment at the District’s three elementary schools, the School Board is in the midst of a two-phase Enrollment Balancing Project (EBP). Opportunities to review the four models under consideration for Phase I (to provide relief to Crow Island School for fall 2017) will be held at the at Carleton Washburne School in December and January. Electronics Recycing Program on Hiatus for the Winter

The Village was recently informed by SWANCC’s electronic recycling contractor, COM2 Recycling, that the current electronics recycling program will be postponed for the winter months. The current program takes place at the Winnetka Public Works facility every Thursday from 1-3 pm. The last day to drop off your electronics will be Thursday, January 12, 2017; No electronics will be accepted after this time. The program is expected to resume in early April,
