New Utiilty Bill Design

The Village's utility bills have an updated design to provide better billing information and transparency about the charges for utility services. It includes contrasting colors, larger type, cleaner-looking consumption graphs, and a larger message center for disseminating important community information.​

Dispose of Unused Prescription Medications and Sharps at Fire Department

The Winnetka Fire Department participates in the Residential Prescription Drug & Sharps Disposal Program. Home prescription medications and used insulin syringes may be dropped off at the Fire Department Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Please note that the Fire Department cannot accept narcotics.

Celebrate the Fourth of July in Winnetka

Fourth of July Parade- 10:00 AM at Elm & Glendale: The parade steps off from the intersection of Elm Street and Glendale Avenue and heads east through town all the way to the Village Green. Families, friends and neighbors are all welcome to be a part of this patriotic event. After the parade, join us at the Village Green for the traditional flag-raising ceremony, children’s flag parade and family races.

Hydrant Flushing in Winnetka

The Village has begun flow testing hydrants in Winnetka. Work began in the far northwest corner of the Village near Scott Avenue and Forest Way Drive, and is progressing south and east throughout the summer. Signs will be placed in the areas to be tested.

Summer Lawn Sprinkling Hours

As a user of Lake Michigan water, the Village is required to impose restrictions by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR); therefore, during the summer months, water restrictions are in effect. New regulations were adopted in 2016 and are summarized below. Lawn sprinkling is no longer allowed on consecutive days. Sprinkling is also prohibited between the hours of 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM The restricted sprinkling hours began on May 15, and are effective until September 15.
