The North Shore Triathlon special event, hosted by Precision Multisport, will be taking place on Sunday, September 17, 2017.  The event will include swimming, biking and running components mainly held in Wilmette, but passing through parts of Kenilworth and Winnetka.  The cycling portion of the event will affect some roads and driveways as follows from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 17:

  • Winnetka residents residing on Wilson Street south of Ash Street and on Winnetka Avenue between Green Bay Road and Sheridan Road will not have access to their driveways between the hours of 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM on the event morning.
  • The sections of Wilson Street and Winnetka Avenue will be closed to all traffic as they are part of the organized bicycle race course.  These portions of Wilson Street and Winnetka Avenue are reserved exclusively for participants in the North Shore Triathlon.

Residents that have driveways in these effected sections of Wilson Street and Winnetka Avenue that wish to have access to their vehicle(s) during this time frame should park their vehicle(s) on a nearby side street in areas where parking is permitted.  Overnight parking permission will not be necessary as overnight enforcement has been waived in this area of the Village during the morning of the race.
