Water Department Cross Connection Survey
March 31, 2017 10:58 AM
In April, all water customers of the Village will receive the 2017 Cross Connection Survey from the Water Department. The State of Illinois and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency(IEPA) regulations require all public water system operators to implement and maintain a cross connection control program aimed at identifying and eliminating cross connection hazards. A periodic system survey is one component of a Public Water Supplier’s cross connection control program that is required by the IEPA. Cross connection control devices are commonly referred to as “backflow preventers”, “reduced pressure zone devices” or “RPZs.” These devices are required to prevent potential backflow contamination from entering the potable water distribution system. Please take a minute to complete and return the survey for your property.
