Winnetka Park District

The Winnetka Park District's mission is to provide a balance of quality recreation and leisure opportunities, while protecting assets, natural resources and open space for the benefit of present and future generations.  The WPD’s Recreation Department offers a wide-variety of year-round general interest programs, athletic programs, in-house and travel leagues, camps and special events.

District 36 Winnetka Public Schools

The Winnetka Public Schools District 36 is proud to be celebrating 150 years of public education in the Winnetka community.  Today, it continues its long-standing commitment to the neighborhood schools concept—serving students in five school buildings—for grades Kindergarten through Eighth grade.  The District remains committed to nurturing creativity and encouraging action through high quality education.

New Trier Township High School

The academic program at New Trier is comprehensive in scope and provides the rigor of critical thought to prepare students to successfully embrace the 21st century. The school continues to be ranked among the top academic institutions in Illinois and the United States. Each department prides itself on creating dynamic, relevant, and challenging curricular offerings for students. First-year students attend the Northfield campus before coming to Winnetka as sophomores.

Winnetka-Northfield Public Library

The Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District is dedicated to providing access to materials and services to meet the informational, cultural and educational needs of every resident in the District. The Library District operates two branches: one in Winnetka, and one in Northfield.

Winnetka Historical Society

The Winnetka Historical Society was founded in 1932 and currently owns and operates two historic buildings in Winnetka.  The Museum at 411 Linden Avenue features gallery space and is also open for research. The Schmidt-Burnham Log House, nestled into Crow Island Woods (1140 Willow Road), offers visitors a glimpse of life in the 1850’s through the interpretation of costumed docents.

Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce

The Chambers of Winnetka and Northfield combined in 2011. The mission of the Winnetka–Northfield Chamber of Commerce (WNCC) is to promote economic growth, development, and involvement in the local business and civic communities. The WNCC hosts openings, gatherings, and special events throughout the year.

New Trier Township

New Trier Township provides human services functions including the funding of social services and programs, advocacy for property taxpayers, and resident services. The Assessor's office handles property tax assessment appeal and exemption matters.  In addition, residents may visit the Township for services such as voter registration, notary public, and acceptance of passport applications.
