On January 17, 2023, the Village Council adopted Ordinance No. MC-01-2023, Amending Chapter 15.60 of the Winnetka Village Code and the Village’s Design Review Guidelines concerning window sign regulations.
Prior to adoption of the Ordinance, all permanent window signs required a sign permit and approval by the Design Review Board. Under the adopted amendments, all permanent window signs would still require a sign permit; however:
- certain types of window signs would be approved in an expedited fashion administratively by Village staff; and
- signs that do not meet the criteria for administrative approval by Village staff would still need to be reviewed and approved by the Design Review Board.
