Census Begins in March

Beginning in mid-March, households across the country will begin receiving official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail. The Village encourages all residents to participate in the Census as the official census count provides the basis for reapportioning congressional seats, redistricting, and distributing federal and state funds to local communities.

Winnetka Launches "Winnetka Futures" Comprehensive Planning Process

The Village of Winnetka is pleased to announce the kick-off of a community-wide planning process to create an updated comprehensive plan. “The Winnetka Futures 2040 Plan” will be an official roadmap informing Village decisions over the next 20 years on issues including land use, economic development, natural resources, transportation, housing, and sustainability.

Stormwater Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with School District 36 Moves Forward

The Village of Winnetka and School District 36 have negotiated an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) authorizing the Village to utilize underground areas on Crow Island School property for flood control efforts in western and southwestern Winnetka, addressing serious and longstanding flooding concerns. District 36 approved the IGA on December 17, and the Village approved it on January 7.
