Friends of the Green Bay Trail Present: Doug Tallamy and The Nature of Oaks

Wednesday, September 29, 2021

Join Friends of the Green Bay Trail, the Glencoe Public Library, and the Glencoe Sustainability Task force as they present Doug Tallamy and The Nature of Oaks, a virtual program on September 29 at 7 PM. Renowned insect ecologist Douglas Tallamy reveals the oak tree’s environmental contributions in his newest book, The Nature of Oaks: The Rich Ecology of Our Most Essential Native Trees. Tallamy’s research has confirmed the oak tree’s keystone status and its superior ability to support animal diversity, protect watersheds and sequester carbon dioxide. Chief among his research goals is understanding the interactions between insects and plants and how these interactions determine animal communities.
