Household Chemical Waste One-Day Event in Lake Forest on September 17 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

There will be a household chemical waste collection event on September 17 from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Lake Forest Municipal Services Center, 800 N. Field Drive, Lake Forest. 

Unable to attend a collection?  Dispose of your household chemical waste for a fee by calling R3 Environmental, Inc. at 847-488-1492 x 202.

Household Chemical Waste (HCW) collections are conducted by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and are available to all Illinois residents. The IEPA website includes information concerning their collection program and a schedule of upcoming collection events.  Call the Waste Reduction Unit at 217-524-3300 with any questions.

The following long-term facilities are available for disposal of HCW. Please phone the long-term facilities ahead to determine availability and open hours.

Chicago's Household Chemicals & Computer Recycling Facility

1150 N North Branch Street
Tuesdays: 7:00 am to 12:00 pm
Thursdays: 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm
1st Saturday of month: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Also accepts computer materials and propane tanks.

Naperville Household Hazardous Waste Facility
156 Fort Hill Drive
9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday
Also accepts batteries, peanut oil, propane tanks (20 pounds or less), and asbestos materials (in a size that will fit in a 55-gallon drum; not in excess of 50 pounds).
