Fourth of July Parade- 10:00 AM at Elm & Glendale: The parade steps off from the intersection of Elm Street and Glendale Avenue and heads east through town all the way to the Village Green. Families, friends and neighbors are all welcome to be a part of this patriotic event. After the parade, join us at the Village Green for the traditional flag-raising ceremony, children’s flag parade and family races - and visit the Village's tent for special Sesquicentennial fun!

Winnetka’s Document Destruction Event will be held Saturday, August 24 from 9:00 AM to Noon at the Public Works Yards, 1390 Willow Road. The goal of the program is to assist residents with recycling out-dated or sensitive documents. As a continuing program, the Solid Agency of Northern Cook Country (SWANCC) is providing a one-day document destruction event for residentially-generated paper.
On Saturday, October 12, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, the Winnetka Fire and Winnetka Police Departments will host their annual Open House, which coincides with the end of Fire Prevention Week. This well-attended event affords the opportunity to tour the headquarters of both Departments, view equipment demonstrations, and sit in public safety vehicles like fire engines and police cars.
The Village of Winnetka and New Trier District 203 have negotiated an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) authorizing the Village to utilize below-grade areas of Duke Childs Field for stormwater storage and conveyance related to flood control efforts in western and southwestern Winnetka.
