2019 Landmark Preservation Award Nominations Due May 24

The Winnetka Landmark Preservation Commission is now accepting applications for its annual awards program. The Preservation Awards program seeks to honor those construction projects in the Village that have helped preserve the history and character of the Village. The awards program has three categories: Restoration, Rehabilitation, and New Construction.


Villages of Glencoe and Winnetka Partner on Water System Analysis

The Village Boards of Glencoe and Winnetka have approved a joint water system analysis to explore possible opportunities for combining part or all of their water production and distribution systems. The feasibility study will be completed by engineering firm Strand Associates, which is familiar with both communities’ water distribution systems and treatment facilities.


One Winnetka Update

In mid-October 2018, the Village Council approved the One Winnetka project at the southeast corner of Elm Street and Lincoln Avenue. The approval documents contain milestones the developer must meet. In December 2018, the developer exercised its options for a 90-day extension to close on the Conney’s property and record the final plat of subdivision for the development. Winnetka Trolley Tours are free and offered on following dates and times (each tour is the same): Saturday, May 18 - 1PM & 3PM; Sunday, May 19 - 1PM & 3PM. Space is limited - registration is required. Tours start in front of Village Hall (510 Green Bay Road) and are approximately 1.5 hours long. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Recommended ages 10+.

Join Village Council members at Peet's Coffee at the corner of Elm and Chestnut Streets on the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 - 11:00 AM to discuss the issues, share your thoughts about our Village, and get to know your elected officials.
