West Nile Virus-Infected Mosquitoes on the Increase

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) has announced that the risk of West Nile Virus (WNV) is currently at the highest level since the 2012 outbreak, when 290 Illinoisans, (174 in Cook County), became ill.

Mosquito Control Scheduled Tuesday & Wednesday, July 17- 18, Weather Permitting

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District will conduct targeted adult mosquito control operations in portions of Winnetka on Thursday/Friday, August 9-10, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, weather permitting.

Traffic Signal & Street Light Pole Painting Project

Starting the week of July 16, and lasting approximately three weeks, a Village contractor will paint 37 street light poles and traffic control cabinets at five intersections in Winnetka. The majority of the street light poles are located along Sheridan and Green Bay Roads. Additional street light poles are located in the east and west Elm business districts.
