Village Proposes Rehabilitation of Cherry and Oak Street Bridges

The Village is proposing to rehabilitate Cherry and Oak Street Bridges over the Union Pacific Railroad. The project will consist of repairs to the bridges and adjacent pavement and sidewalk. During construction, each bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and Metra access from the Oak Street Bridge will be temporarily closed. The Cherry Street Bridge will be completed and opened to traffic prior to the closure of the Oak Street Bridge. This work is tentatively scheduled as follows:

• Cherry Street Bridge closure March, 2019 through July, 2019
• Oak Street Bridge and Metra access closure July, 2019 through November, 2019
