Village Recognized with Certificate of Achievement

The Village of Winnetka was recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).  The Certificate recognizes the Village’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the March 31, 2013 fiscal year.  This is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Winnetka’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA program – demonstrating that the Village operated under full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to use the CAFR.  The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals, and has offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The Village has earned the Certificate every year since 1993.
