All grass and weeds must be mowed by property owners or those responsible for property maintenance before the growth reaches 8 inches. Email the Village's Code Enforcement Officer, or call 847-716-3521.

Acceptable Days & Hours
Year-round, the Winnetka Police Department recommends conducting noisy landscaping between 8 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, and between 9 AM and 6 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. During April, October, and November, internal combustion blowers may only be used between 8 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, and 9 AM and 6 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Noise complaints as a result of landscaping or similar activities may be reported to the Winnetka Police Department for evaluation.
Use of a Leaf Blower
The use of any internal combustion blower powered by the burning of gasoline or another type of flammable fuel is prohibited during the months of December through March, and May through September. Such blowers are only allowed during spring and fall clean up (April, October, and November). Please call 9-1-1 to report use of leaf blowers outside of the permissible times.
Employing Landscapers
If you employ landscapers, they must be licensed by the Village, and aware of Winnetka’s leaf blower restrictions. View a list of landscapers currently licensed by the Village. Leaf Blower Restrictions
Winnetka’s leaf blower restrictions do not apply to golf course lawn upkeep activities, to electric leaf blowers plugged into normal electric outlets, or to battery-powered leaf blowers.
