Collection Schedule

Village of Winnetka Public Works staff provide refuse collection services for the community-including residential and commercial customers. Recycling collection is also provided as a service contracted out by the Village. The standard refuse and recycling schedule for the Village is as follows:

• Monday: All properties north of Tower Road
• Tuesday: All properties between Tower Road and Pine Street
• Wednesday: All properties east of the railroad and south of Pine Street
• Thursday: All properties west of the railroad between Pine Street and Willow Road
• Friday: All properties west of the railroad, south of Willow Road

Household Hazardous Waste

In partnership with Clean Harbors Environmental Services, SWANCC member communities have the opportunity to "Opt-In" to a special, scheduled, HHW pick-up service. 

• Appointments are available quarterly and scheduled directly through Clean Harbors. Call 866-466-5060 or visit CleanHarbor's website to schedule. 
• Availability of appointments maybe limited.
• A maximum of 70 pounds of eligible materials are eligible per pick up.
• The cost to residents is $81. 
• This service is only available to communities who have currently opted-in. (Opted-In communities: Arlington Heights, Glencoe, Rolling Meadows, Skokie, Wheeling, and Winnetka)
• Latex paint is NOT accepted in this program. 

New Battery and Household Paint Recycling Options

Household paint and batteries have new recycling options, as the Village cannot accept either item, via PaintCare and  The Battery Network. Learn more on their websites.
