Village code requires that any dog over the age of six months living in Winnetka must have a Village license and that the appropriate tag be displayed on its collar or harness. Current registration tags must be displayed by January 1 of each year. The license fee for un-spayed female dogs is $15, for all other dogs it is $10. The Village issues a bill to most residents bimonthly. Commercial and large residential accounts may be billed monthly. Most bills include charges for electricity, water, sewer, and refuse pickup. There are also customer charges which partially pay for the cost to read and maintain the meters, billing the account and covering additional fixed costs in providing services.
The Village of Winnetka requires the purchase of an annual license for vehicles. Application forms for vehicles that were previously registered in Winnetka are mailed to residents in the fall of every year. New residents and residents who acquire new vehicles can obtain license application forms at Village Hall. Vehicle license stickers for the current year must be displayed by January 1.
