Adopted Building Codes
Effective January 1, 2026 - The Village of Winnetka will be reviewing permits under the 2024 Illinois Energy Conservation Code.
All building and fire safety permit applications submitted until November 3, 2024 will be reviewed for compliance with the below-listed model codes, local amendments to these codes, as well as other existing Village and other applicable governmental regulations.
All building and fire safety permit applications submitted on or after November 4, 2024 will be reviewed for compliance with newly-adopted model codes (PDF).
When reviewing model codes, it is important to cross reference the linked model codes with the Village’s local amendments for an accurate picture of the Village of Winnetka’s building codes.
