To continue to effectively address criminal activity in the area at a time when the Winnetka Police Department is understaffed, the Village is temporarily contracting with P4 Security Solutions to provide enhanced community monitoring.

It’s important to note that P4 Security Solutions are not assuming the duties of Winnetka Police Officers. If there is an emergency or police assistance is needed, please call 911 for a police officer response.

P4 Security Solutions’ main function in Winnetka will be to observe, detect, and report suspicious activity to Winnetka Police Officers, while acting as a visible deterrent. P4 Security Solutions will provide extra sets of experienced eyes and an enhanced security presence in our community. P4 Security Solutions’ staff consists of off-duty law enforcement officers who possess the knowledge, training, and experience to provide timely and effective support to Winnetka Police Officers. The staff provided by P4 Security Solutions is a consistent roster of individuals familiar with the area.

The contract with P4 Security Solutions will allow the Winnetka Police Department to continue to provide exceptional service to our community while prioritizing the recruitment of new police officers. The hiring of qualified officers is a lengthy process which can take 10 months to one year. This temporary solution helps reduce the existing strain on our talented and dedicated police officers, who make personal sacrifices to maintain a consistent presence in our community despite the challenges of an understaffed department.
